About James Flanigan
Jim Flanigan
is the territorial vice president of the International Brotherhood of Magicians
(IBM) for the greater Washington, D.C., area which includes Northern Virginia and parts of
Maryland. He also is the longtime editor of Ring 50's monthly Magi-Gram.
Jim became fascinated with magic as a young man when he saw stage performances by the
legendary Lee Grable and the Great Virgil. He was tutored by the late Reg Marcus of Great
Britain. His father built him a black art magic table while his mother sewed an egg bag and
sack escape. He was ready to perform.
During high
school, he did a regular prize-winning magic act for various organizations. He
developed a mental telepathy act with a lady assistant whose father was a rodeo clown and
magician.
The Irish Whodunit has appeared in a Princess Cruise Line talent show, at the National Press
Club and at the Psychic Ghost Theatre among other venues.
